About the Role: This role sits within the IT organization and focuses on financial analysis, reporting, and cost optimization. The IT Financial Analyst partners with IT and Accounting to track technology spend, manage asset and contract data, and deliver insights that support operational and financial decision-making.
Most Important:
- Experience in a Financial Analyst role supporting IT or technology organizations
- Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, data linking, reporting)
- Intermediate SQL skills for data extraction and analysis
- Experience with ERP systems (Sage preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Technical Skills Required:
- Data & Reporting: Excel (pivot tables, reporting), SQL
- ERP Systems: Sage or similar platforms
- Financial Analysis: Budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis
- IT Operations: Asset tracking, vendor management, contract tracking
Responsibilities:
- Analyze IT expenditures, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to leadership
- Build, automate, and maintain financial reports and dashboards
- Track IT assets, software, contracts, and associated costs
- Partner with Accounting and Finance to allocate and manage IT spend
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis
- Support invoice processing, vendor coordination, and payment reconciliation
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities related to IT
- Maintain trackers for invoices, payments, and project-related costs
- Ensure data accuracy through validation and financial audits
- Support process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy
- Provide ad hoc financial and operational analysis as needed
