Must have skills:
4+ years of DevOps, software engineering, or systems engineering experience.
Strong proficiency in Python and shell scripting.
Hands-on experience with Ansible automation.
Deep understanding of Linux (RHEL) administration.
Ability to log into Linux systems, navigate, troubleshoot, and analyze logs.
Experience with Docker or Kubernetes in production environments.
Familiarity with GitFlow workflows.
Working knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar backend databases.
Responsibilities:
Build, maintain, and enhance automation pipelines supporting Verizon’s multi-cloud environment.
Develop tooling and automation using Python, Ansible, and shell scripting.
Administer and troubleshoot systems in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.
Access, review, and analyze system logs (syslogs) for troubleshooting and performance optimization.
Support containerized workloads using Docker and/or Kubernetes.
Work within GitFlow for version control, branching, and release management.
Support backend components, including PostgreSQL and related data workflows.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across CBTS and Verizon, including engineering, integration, and architecture groups.
Maintain strong availability during core hours and communicate consistently via Slack.
Contribute to automation and AI-related initiatives (AI experience is a plus; training will be provided).
