Must have skills:
7+ years of hands-on network engineering experience in enterprise or Managed Services environments.
Hands-on expertise with FortiGate Secure SD-WAN and FortiSASE (ZTNA, SWG, FWaaS).
Strong understanding of cloud?delivered security architectures, SD-WAN overlays/underlays, traffic steering, and policy enforcement.
Advanced routing knowledge: BGP (required) and OSPF, including policy control, filtering, and failover.
Strong knowledge of high availability, redundancy design, QoS, NAT, firewall concepts, and TCP/IP.
Experience supporting routers, switches, firewalls, and WAN infrastructure across multivendor environments (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco, Check Point, etc.).
Familiarity with hybrid/cloud networking across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Proficiency with network monitoring and performance tools, plus Visio (or similar) for network diagrams.
Ability to translate architectures across vendors (Cisco SD-WAN, Meraki, VeloCloud, Juniper Mist/SSR).
Certifications: Fortinet NSE4 – Required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Responsibilities:
Serve as a Tier 3 escalation engineer for Fortinet SD-WAN and FortiSASE.
Troubleshoot complex issues across FortiGate SD-WAN, FortiSASE (ZTNA, SWG, FWaaS), VPN, BGP, NAT, and firewall policy enforcement.
Lead high-severity incident response, customer communication, and root cause analysis (RCA).
Support Fortinet SD-WAN branch/hub designs and FortiSASE architectures for ZTNA, SWG, and FWaaS.
Manage the full service lifecycle: onboarding, change management, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning.
Enforce security policies, routing/segmentation strategies, and high-availability/resiliency standards.
Support advanced routing (BGP required, OSPF) and hybrid/cloud connectivity across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Support Zero Trust Networking components, including ZTNA, SWG, and cloud-delivered firewall policies.
Integrate Fortinet solutions with identity providers (SAML, MFA) and remote user access models.
Contribute to automation (APIs, Python, Ansible, Terraform preferred) and improve observability via Fortinet dashboards and monitoring platforms.
Maintain SOPs, runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and service readiness documentation.
Mentor Tier 1/2 engineers and collaborate with Architecture, Product, and Service Management teams to evolve the SASE offering.
