Most Important:
10–15+ years of experience in data engineering and architecture, including enterprise-level data platforms
Hands-on expertise in both Databricks and Snowflake — not just using, but designing and implementing robust data solutions
Proven ability to architect end-to-end data platforms and translate business needs into technical execution
Experience leading complex, high-impact data initiatives with a focus on performance, scalability, and outcomes
Deep knowledge of data warehousing tools like Teradata, Informatica, Apache Spark, or Hadoop
Qualifications:
Strong background in data architecture, distributed systems, and scalable data processing
Demonstrated ability to implement and optimize solutions on Databricks and Snowflake
Experience designing data ingestion frameworks, analytical pipelines, and batch/streaming ETL
Familiar with DBT and modern tools for batch ETL (a plus)
Ability to explain technical decisions, lead architectural discussions, and mentor junior team members
Strong communication skills — can clearly explain where you’ve solved similar challenges in the past
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Responsibilities:
Design and implement modern data architecture for a new global analytics platform
Ingest and transform data from diverse global grant recipients for analysis and reporting
Leverage the best features of Databricks and Snowflake to build scalable, efficient systems
Collaborate with analytics, insights, and AI/ML teams on strategic data initiatives
Provide technical leadership and hands-on support in setting up pipelines, modeling data, and architecting solutions
Review and vet candidate profiles and help build out the broader data engineering team
