BS of Mechanical Engineering
Qualifications:
Minimum 8 years of product design/engineering experience in an engineering environment and demonstrated skills in the design of complex fabricated and machined parts and assemblies
Knowledge of operation, principles, and practices of engineering drafting and computer programs with advanced skills in SolidWorks CAD
Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word software
Ability to use and apply theoretical engineering concepts and engineering principles to practical problems
Strong problem-solving skills
A creative approach for generating new ideas
Must be able to read and interpret complex drawings and blueprints
Advanced knowledge of fabrication methods, welding techniques, machine tools, cutting tools, and machining process
Ability to design complex fixtures and tooling for machining of precision parts
Skilled in the use of using common machine shop measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and familiar with machining equipment such as lathes, mills etc. as well as welding techniques
Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals and have full understanding of all processes, procedures and safety risk associated with manufacturing
Ability to meet deadlines and work under rush delivery situations
Have excellent English communication skills and work ethics
Handle daily problems with positive solutions and interface well with coworkers and other departments at all levels with a positive attitude
Responsibilities:
Mechanical Engineers design and develop mechanical parts, components, and equipment and provide engineering, manufacturing, and project management support
Position requires the engineer to perform all aspects of engineering, designing new products using computer-aided design software such as SolidWorks for modeling, drawing creation, and reverse engineering and component selection
The Mechanical Engineer is expected to develop mechanical component and technology strategies for new products while also identifying opportunities to improve existing products and have the ability to produce complex engineering drawings/diagrams and assist in assembly and troubleshooting of company products
Independently plan and perform engineering and technical work concerning the design, engineering, and drafting of company products
Research engineering and design issues, evaluate alternatives, make sound recommendations, and prepare and present concept or working sketches and drawings
Utilize knowledge of working properties and machining characteristics for a wide variety of materials such as stainless steels, aluminum, plastics, and rubber in the designing of company products
Assist in the design and development of new products from conceptual ideas and design layouts to final product design iterations
Verify designs utilizing CAD by checking form, fit, and function, and finite element analysis (FEA)
Check manufacturing drawings to ensure compliance to applicable industry standards
